Roatan Real Estate
Your questions, answered
What is Roatan Real Estate?
Roatan Real Estate is a multi-listing directory for Roatan Island — homes and condos for sale, land, commercial property, and rental-management services — posted directly by the agents and owners who list them. We are not a brokerage and do not represent buyers or sellers.
Can foreigners buy property in Roatan?
Generally yes — Honduras allows foreign buyers to own real property, though specific requirements can differ from the mainland and may involve extra steps for certain coastal or border-adjacent land. Always confirm the current rules with a qualified Honduran attorney before you buy.
How do I list a property or rental-management service?
Agents and owners can create a free profile and list up to 3 properties or services across residential, commercial and rental-management categories. Buyers and owners who want a property managed can then request contact directly.
Are the listings verified?
Listings are created by the agents and owners who post them. Roatan Real Estate does not verify price, availability, title or condition — confirm everything with the agent or owner, an independent inspection and a local attorney.
What should I check before buying on Roatan?
Ask about title and ownership history, surveys, building permits and setbacks, property taxes, whether a rental-management company is needed if you won't live on-island, and any homeowners' association or community fees.
Is there a cost to list my property?
No — listing is currently free. We'll announce any future paid listing tiers here.
Is anything on this site legal, financial or tax advice?
No. Roatan Real Estate is educational and a listings directory only. Ownership rules, taxes and closing processes vary and change — talk with a qualified local attorney and tax adviser about your own purchase.
